In 1998, Alex Soldier was commissioned by a private collector to make a statuette of Vladimir Vysotsky—an iconic Russian singer, songwriter, poet, and actor whose career had an immense and enduring effect on Russian culture. The statuette is made of more than 100 components and presents a complex integration of meaning, design and superb craftsmanship. Handmade in NYC.
