Once upon a time, in a far away land of a country that no longer exists, lived a family that had dreams and aspirations that were larger than life itself. They dreamed of coming to the land of the free and the home of the brave, of leaving their old life behind and embarking on a new path, of finding true freedom in pursuit of happiness. They had an insatiable thirst for life—a life full of meaning, a life of their own choosing that wasn't bestowed onto them by the totalitarian regime or anyone else but themselves.
And so they took a leap of faith and arrived to the New World without knowing the language, without money or connections. Despite the myriad of challenges that they faced, they persevered and found strength in each other as a family. They knew what it was like to be hungry, to feel inferior. They tasted the bitterness of poverty, yet had no regrets and continued on their chosen path, with their dream always shining like a bright star, lighting the way, for they had each other to keep that dream alive.
It's hard to believe that more than three decades have passed by since then. As our family gathers this Thanksgiving, we reflect on those early days, the sacrifices that built our foundation, and the resilience that brought us here. Our hearts swell with gratitude—not only for the blessings we enjoy today but also for the struggles that shaped us and made us stronger, kinder, and more compassionate.
On this special day, we celebrate not just our journey but the stories of countless families across our beautiful nation. Each one is unique, yet all are bound by a shared pursuit of happiness, freedom, and love. As we sit together around our table, we count our blessings: the warmth of family, the security of home, the hope that fuels our dreams, and the strength to face every new challenge.
Most of all, we are grateful for you—for your kindness, support, and the connection we share. Your presence enriches our lives in ways words cannot fully capture.
This holiday season, may your days be filled with love, light, and joy. From our family to yours, we send our heartfelt wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving.
With love,
The Alex Soldier Family
